Listened to the BBC Radio version of Neverwhere<3.
James Mcavoy's adorable scottish voice is absolutely perfect for the bumbling Richard Mayhew <3 He seems to utterly natural in his role. Benedict Cumberbach! >///<!!! He only appeared in episode 3 and by then I was so deep into the story that I forgot the Angel Islington was him! Natalie Dormer was absolutely perfect in painting the character of Door. And goodness, The Marquis, David Harewood... I should shut up about now.
It's so incredible how with their voices and sound effects alone they manage to paint an incredibly realistic picture in my head of the story. Perhaps it is because I've already read the book. Perhaps not. I have told my friends who haven't read the book to give the radio play a go just to see if they understand the story without the book. Regardless they are all incredibly talented actors and if an audio CD comes out I am totally buying it <3
